Be it happy times or the times when you really need some cheering up, alcohol and music have always been by our side. Either to party all night long or be with you in your weakest moment, the two make for an awesome pair that we’re never going to get enough of.
Bollywood has combined our two favourite things and given us some smash hits over the years. Here are 10 Bollywood songs that are all things alcohol.
1. Chaar Botal Vodka
While it might be a task for a lot of us, 4 bottles of Vodka was child’s play for Yo Yo Honey Singh. Back in 2014, no party was complete without this smash hit being played. No prizes for guessing that this number on Vodka is an ABSOLUT hit (see what we did there?).
2. Peele Peele, Oh Mere Raja
The bond between besties only gets better when there’s alcohol involved. We all remember moments when our best pal has egged us on to chug that glass down. Back in 1993, Raaj Kumar and Nana Patekar showed us how having a good time with booze is done in style.
3. Barsaat Ke Mausam Mein
This cult classic on sipping in the rains by Kumar Sanu and Roop Kumar Rathod made us wait for the monsoons. With all of us feeling the heat these days, the rains better come soon for us to once again revel in the awesome-mausam with a drink in hand.
4. Log Kehte Hai Mein Sharabi Hu
While we have absolutely no right to label anybody an alcoholic, Amitabh Bachchan in the 1984-starrer Sharaabi surely didn’t give a damn about what the world thought of him. With a song that describes his character perfectly, drunkard and proud was the way to go for our favourite ‘angry young man’.
5. Thodi Si Jo Peeli Hai
Big B sure knew how to ace the role of a drunk in some style. Being in his element and flying high as a kite, he is the least bit apologetic about being drunk. The only thing he’s worried about in this absolute laugh riot of a song is someone to hold him should he fall.

6. Chote Chote Peg
What do bad girls like to do the most? Judging by this song, getting risky with whisky would be undeniably spot on. But as we always say, ‘Drink Responsibly’, it’s best you don’t get sloshed and hammered and instead opt for ‘Chote Chote Peg’.
7. Nadiya Se Dariya
These pearls of wisdom penned by Anand Bakshi will forever be etched in the annals of drinking. Rajesh Khanna and Kishore Kumar are a combination to cherish for giving us this evergreen classic. This melody from the film Namak Haraam on our favourite topic surely leaves us a life lesson we’d keep close to our livers. River<Sea<Ocean<The depths of alcohol
8. Johnny, Johnny
Eating sugar was what Johnny did in his childhood. With time, Johnny grew up and moved to alcohol. Nursery rhymes were never going to be the same after this. Good times indeed.
And if you thought this was the only nursery rhyme that has shades of alcohol, we are going to mention ‘Lalla Lalla Lori, Daaru ki katori’ as well. See it to believe it!
9. Mein Sharabi, Mein Sharabi
No one does songs on booze better than Yo Yo Honey Singh. With the song featuring in a movie titled Cocktail, it should come as no surprise to see this peppy party number being on this list.
10. Chalak Chalak
While avid Bollywood buffs relish the ‘Dola Re Dola’ and ‘Maar Daala’, let’s not forget this track from Devdas that sure added a smile on the faces of drinkers. We have seen many uncles dancing on this track at various family occasions where booze was involved. Video link:
So there you go, music and alcohol served together in one hell of an intoxicant that is sure to make you tap your feet and clink your glasses.
