5 Bars That Every Movie Buff Should Visit

Somehow I have been very fascinated with places from TV. They seem to have the prettiest clothes, houses, cafes and of course, bars. TV has given birth to some of the most iconic bars, and turns out a lot of them exist in reality too. Here are the coolest bars from TV that you can visit. Only if you have the money and visa, of course.

Apart from the incredibly good looking star cast, another thing that won my heart over in the movie Goodwill hunting was the Tavern – a bar where the gang hung out. Woody’s L Street Tavern in Boston was home to these bar scenes, and is still the same. despite the many years since the movie.

Kavanagh’s Irish Pub – The Wire

I have been a fan of the unique and intriguing series by HBO, The Wire, and I was thrilled to know that Kavanagh’s Irish Pub existed in real life too. Apparently, it’s filled with advocates and officials these days. I am not surprised.

New York Bar and Grill – Lost In Translation

You can be a fan of the movie or not, but New York Bar and Grill in Tokyo is visit worthy either way. This is where Bill’s character meets a young Scarlet Johansson. However, be prepared to sell your soul, because this place is romantic, but also ridiculously expensive. As much as your flight fare may be.

Bull And Finch – Cheers

The super successful 80’s sitcom Cheers is still alive through a bar called Bull And Finch, after which the show’s bar was modelled. It looks the exact same and the team tries to keep the Cheers vibes alive. If in Boston, don’t miss a visit here.

The Castle Pub – Notting Hill

This rom-com was a thundering success in the late 90’s and if you are a Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts fan, it would be a shame if you don’t visit this bar. Placed bang opposite the famous ‘blue door’, this bar is surrounded by locations from the movie. How about you drink some and go on a Notting Hill tour?
