Is there truly anything better than a Belgian strong dark ale that’s packed full of flavour? Scaldis Noel is just that and a lot more. There’s a nutty, toffee flavour to it along with some dark fruit as well, and it’s extremely well balanced. Age it or drink it fresh, either way you’re getting the very best.

A staple on the East Coast at Christmas time, Mad Elf has kept hundreds of people happy for over 15 years. There’s cherry and honey flavours in it that’ll have you smacking your lips, and the 11% ABV will have you a satisfied kind of tipsy. This is definitely for those with a sweet tooth.

Spices in beer may not seem like a great thing for a beginner till they have a sip of this gorgeous Christmas Ale. This will surely keep you warm with its 10% alcohol content and loads of banana and herby notes. This has also been a favourite of many a beer expert, so you can’t go wrong with it.
Black Christmas, Weird Beard
With a name like that, you’d expect this beer to be strong and pack a punch. And it does! It’s an amazingly delicious cranberry stout that smells like all things great – coffee, vanilla, chocolate. It’s jet black colour, frothy head and burnt-ish taste will have you ordering a case right after experiencing it.
2XMAS, Southern Tier
You know I wouldn’t end one of my lists without adding something unique. This one’s based on an iconic Swedish holiday drink – a traditional glogg. The spice – clove mostly – in 2XMAS definitely balances out the flavours of fig, cardamom, orange peel and ginger root perfectly. If you’re known to be experimental, don’t miss out on this.
