Sometimes it’s hard to choose between having a cocktail or a beer. I mean one’s a party in your mouth and the other’s a party too, just more laid back. But how about we combine the best of both worlds together and show you some cocktail-inspired beers so you never have to choose again!
Old Fashioned – Wicked Weed Brewing
The Old Fashioned is truly the most classic of all cocktails, it’s even featured in Mad Men (a lot). While Wicked Weed has a whole range of cocktail-inspired beers, the Old Fashioned with a bourbon barrel-aged Old Ale, cherries and oranges, definitely takes the cake!
Imperial Cabinet – Bruery Terreux and Jester King
Imperial Cabinet is a Ramos Gin Fizz-inspired beer which is a barrel-fermented Farmhouse Ale. The beer is just as playful as the cocktail with 8%-9% ABV, orange blossoms added during boiling and tons of botanicals in the mix to never let us miss the gin.
G&T Gose – Anderson Valley Brewing Co
Like your drinks a little more subtle? Well, not to worry, Anderson Valley’s done it just right with their Gin and Tonic inspired beer – G&T Gose. Just like the zesty and simple cocktail, this beer too has tinges of lime juice along with juniper berries and grains of paradise to stand in for the gin.
Brown & Stirred – Pipeworks and Longman & Eagle
There’s always a great result when bars and breweries collaborate and so was the case with Brown & Stirred as well. This Margarita-inspired rye ale which is brewed with corn in the grist, along with a few special ingredients like all spice added right before sending the bottles out. More of this, please!
Sazerac Rye-on-Rye – Boulevard Brewing Company
What’s better than a Sazerac combined with a strong Rye-on-Rye Ale? I’m guessing the answer is nothing and you’d be right! This beautiful beer, aged in Templeton Rye barrels, was brewed with spices to imitate bitters and lemon peel was added in while boiling to get the Sazerac into each bottle.
