5 Star Wars Inspired Cocktails To Get Your Jedi On

The Last Jedi is almost here and so is Star Wars-inspired everything so why should our cocktails be any different? We sadly can’t be at the NYC pop-up bars but we can always stir up some Star Wars inspired cocktails at home! Here are some options –

The Death Star

You’re going to fall in love with this LIIT-esque drink the moment you take a sip. It’s called the Death Star for its potent combination of liquors that’ll have you singing to the tune of the Star Wars theme. Bonus points for getting Death Star ice molds which are easily available online and look damn cool.

What you’ll need:

  • 30 ml Jagermeister
  • 30 ml triple sec
  • 30 ml vodka
  • 30 ml whiskey
  • 60 ml sweet and sour mix
  • 60 ml cola

Instructions:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a glass and drop in a Death Star ice
  2. Stir and serve immediately

Drink Me, You Will

Literally everyone and their moms know what this name is a reference to (Yoda, if you live under a rock). This green drink has sage syrup to reference Yoda’s wisdom and to lend a herb-y flavour. Even the garnish is an ode to elfish ears.

What you’ll need:

For cocktail –

  • 44 ml Calvados
  • 30 ml apple cider
  • 15 ml sage simple syrup
  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 6 basil leaves

For sage simple syrup –

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 sage leaves

Instructions:

For sage simple syrup –

  1. Heat sugar and water on medium-heat
  2. Stir till sugar dissolves
  3. Allow to cool and pour into airtight container
  4. Cut 8 sage leaves in half and add to mixture
  5. Steep overnight, remove in the morning

For cocktail –

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake well
  2. Strain into martini glass and serve with 2 sage leaves

Blue Milk

Known as a refreshing and sweet drink from a bantha in the Star Wars universe, we couldn’t keep ourselves from sharing an alcoholic version. Inspired from the White Russian, this has the hue of Blue Milk but packs the power of several liquors.

What you’ll need:

  • 89 ml milk
  • 30 ml cream
  • 60 ml blue curacao
  • 30 ml coconut rum
  • 30 ml amaretto

Instructions:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice
  2. Shake well for 20-30 seconds
  3. Pour into chilled glass and serve

BB-8 Dark And Stormy

Adorable and oh so lovable, BB-8 has definitely captured the hearts of every Star Wars fan despite being a relatively new addition. To pay ode to it, here’s an equally adorable cocktail which is a twist on the classic Dark And Stormy that kinda looks like the cute droid.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 bottle ginger beer
  • 30 ml rum
  • Quarter lime and single blueberry as garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a glass filled with ice to mostly full with ginger beer
  2. Pour the rum slowly into the glass to create a layered effect
  3. Skewer lime quarter and blueberry on a toothpick to mimic BB-8’s head

Princess Leia

Don’t get me wrong, I love Rey, Luke, Han Solo, Darth Vader, the whole shebang but I will also be partial to Princess Leia and her badassery. So foregoing the usual suspects, here’s an ode to the boss women both General Leia and Carrie Fischer were.

What you’ll need:

  • 74 ml gin
  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml maraschino liqueur
  • Raspberry liqueur
  • 1 strawberry and 2 cherries as garnish

Instructions:

  1. Pour gin, simple syrup, lemon juice, lime juice and maraschino liqueur into cocktail shaker filled with ice
  2. Shake well and strain into Martini glass
  3. Pour raspberry liqueur 1 inch up from the bottom of the glass
  4. Skewer 1 blueberry, then strawberry and a blueberry on a toothpick after to mimic Leia’s buns and garnish
