Boozy Basics: How To Drink Rosé Right

Although we don’t get to drink it every weekend, you might just hit the jackpot and end up with a bottle of some beautiful rosé on a lucky day. So, on that day, please don’t act like a crude animal and drink it right out of the bottle and humiliate that gorgeous artwork of a drink. We are here to guide you with a few steps you need to follow, if you want to be identified as a poised rosé drinker. Here we go:

Chill your rosé: Obviously, like all its wine counterparts, rosé needs to be refrigerated up to 12 hours before consumption. Rosé is considered to be at its aromatic best when its stored at 12° Celsius by the French and we don’t want to argue with that. Those dudes know their wine.

Choose the right glass: Rosé’s ideal glass partner would be the white wine glass, which is smaller than the red wine glass and mostly tulip shaped. Bring out your A-game when it comes to glasses, because good rosé deserves it.

Pour it right: Uncork the bottle, hold it a few inches above the nose of the glass and pour it to the center of the glass. Not caressing the sideways, but the center of the glass. Once the glass is half full, tilt the bottle and rotate the bottle to avoid dripping.

Swirl it: Get this right, swirling wine, any wine makes it different and better. Take your wine glass by the stem and swirl it lightly. This helps you get the full aromas of the wine.

Nose it, take a sip and relish it: Smell the rosé, identify the fruit, sweet notes and then slowly take a generous sip. Rosé is super smooth, so it won’t numb your palate, instead you will feel a warm sensation on your tastebuds. Once you’ve allowed yourself to taste it, swallow it to realise how damned smooth it is.
