5 Best Breweries In The World, 2020

RateBeer, which is a community of beer enthusiasts from all over the globe, has used user-generated data to determine the best brewers in the world on the basis of average performance in 2019, validation by extra-regional reviewers and performance across beer style ranges and within style. The website has used user reviews to curate a list of the top 10 brewers, which were added to the RateBeer database between June, 2018 and January, 2020. 

1. Mount St. Bernard Abbey Brewery, England

Run by the monks of St. Bernard, the Mount St. Bernard Abbey Brewery has been awarded the top spot for its highly popular The Tynt Meadow English Trappist Ale. The artisanal brewery was set up in 2018 to manufacture small-batch ales, with the monks doing the brewing, bottling and packaging all by themselves at the brewery grounds. The beer is a strong dark ale that is brewed with English hops and barley. Fermented twice, the full-bodied beer offers a flavour profile of dark chocolate, pepper and fig and an aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice and fruits.  

2. Nightmare Brewing Company, US

Nightmare Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery that is popular for its historic event-inspired beers. The brewers are death metal enthusiasts who have brewed beers like Scaphism stout, Windlass of Erasmus gose and Drawn & Quartered IPA that have been highly popular in the US. The brewery offers a range of beers with Nightmare Exposure IPA being the most popular among beer enthusiasts.

3. Brasserie Atrium, Belgium

Atrium Brewery is known for its unconventional beers that are brewed from the highest quality of ingredients on its grounds. The brewery offers an open invitation to beer enthusiasts to visit its tasting rooms to experience different brews there. It’s coffee-flavoured Kofi stout and Chihuahua IPA are popular among beer enthusiasts in Belgium.

4. Dok Brewing Company, Belgium

Founded by three beer enthusiasts from Ghent, Dok Brewing Company is a microbrewery and taproom that offers freshly brewed beers to its customers. The visitors get to taste the brews directly from tanks and kegs. The brewery is equipped with custom-built installations that allow the brewers to experiment with and explore different beer styles. 5. Duration Brewing, England

Duration Brewing is a farmhouse craft brewery in West Norfolk which is known for its fresh beers and wild ales. The brewery offers blended farm-style beers with its Duration Turtles All The Way Down pale ale being the most popular among beer enthusiasts in the country.
