5 Boozy Halloween Desserts You Can Make At Home

Halloween is just 20 days away and we’re already excited! Take out your baking trays and mixing bowls to whip out some extremely yummy boozy desserts for this Halloween. Give your parent-friends a break by gifting them these creations and be remembered as the best treat-bringer ever.

1. Vodka Broken Glass Cupcakes

Don’t be alarmed, there is no broken glass in this Halloween cupcake recipe. But you can always pretend there is, to be the most badass Halloween party host this year!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 dozen cupcakes
  • 1/4 cup Vodka
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1/4 cup RumChata
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. Red food colouring

Instructions:

  • To make the frosting, add powdered sugar, Irish cream and RumChata to a bowl, and stir well to get the desired consistency.
  • Warm the cupcakes in an oven (if not homemade) and pour vodka over them. 
  • Top it with frosting and keep aside.
  • To make the broken glass, pour sugar in a saucepan over low heat. 
  • Add water, corn syrup and cream of tartar to it and stir.
  • Cook until it is at 290 degrees. (Use a candy thermometer for it)
  • Use a vegetable spray on a baking tray, and pour the mix onto it.
  • Keep aside until it’s solid.
  • Use a hammer to break the now-solid mix, and decorate the cupcakes with it.
  • Pour corn syrup and red food colouring mixture over it. 

2. Red Wine Slush

If you are having one of those fancy Halloween parties where people are dressed as Mr. Darcy and Ernest Hemingway, you need to start buying the ingredients for Red Wine slush ASAP.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup sugar 
  • 1 ½  tsp. citric acid
  • 1/4 tsp. matcha powder
  • 1 bottle wine
  • 3 cup water

Instructions:

  • Blend sugar, citric acid, and matcha powder for 1-2 minutes. 
  • Pour mix into a bowl. 
  • Add wine and water to it and stir well.
  • Freeze for 3 hours, and serve.

3. Bloody Mary Heart

Nothing will be more trippy than a psychopath doctor or a zombie eating a heart in your living room. So get your costumes on point because here is a Bloody Mary heart to kick off the party with.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 packet Knox gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2  lemon juice 
  • 1 ¼ cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 dashes tabasco sauce
  • 4 Heart Moulds

Instructions:

  • Pour vodka in a bowl and sprinkle gelatin on it. Set it aside.
  • Add water and lemon juice to a saucepan. 
  • Bring it to a low boil over medium heat.
  • Wait for 10 mins and strain into the vodka gelatin bowl,
  • Stir until gelatin dissolves.
  • Add tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and tabasco sauce to it and stir well.
  • Pour mixture into moulds and refrigerate for 4 hours.
  • Put the mould into warm water for a few seconds to free gelatin hearts, and serve.

4. Tex Mex Boo Bites

Boo! If you are going to be having children over, having boo bites will keep them busy while you pour yourself a glass of wine.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cup Organic white flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
  • 2 spoon Flaxseed
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Dried thyme
  • 4 spoon Coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup Almond milk
  • 1/4 cup Light Beer
  • 1 cup black beans puree

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees, and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, flax, salt and thyme in a bowl.
  • Mix beer, milk and oil in a container and add it to the flour bowl.
  • Stir and mix until you get the consistency of dough.
  • Divide the dough into 2 parts and use a rolling pin to create 2 slabs (an inch-thick).
  • Spread black beans puree on one slab, and cover it with the other slab.
  • Use a ghost cookie cutter to cut the slabs into as many pieces as you can.
  • Spread them on the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Serve alongside a salsa dip.

5. Stout-infused Tootsie Rolls

Pass out Stout candies to all the parents accompanying their children Trick or Treating this year to become the best Halloween house on your block. 

What you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup Smooth almond butter
  • 1/4 cup Dates 
  • 2 spoon Pure maple syrup
  • 2 spoon Dark cocoa powder
  • 1 spoon Coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Corn starch 
  • 1/2 cup Stout beer

Instructions:

  • Heat the beer in a microwave for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the dates to it, stir and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • Blend almond butter, maple syrup, cocoa powder and coconut oil.
  • Add the beer-soaked dates (discard beer) to it and blend until smooth.
  • Mix powdered sugar and cornstarch into a bowl.
  • Add the blended mixture to it.
  • Mix until you get a dough.
  • Dust some cornstarch on a parchment paper and roll the dough into 6 inch logs.
  • Put the logs into a freezer for 20 minutes. 
  • Cut them into 2 inch bites.
  • Wrap them in wax paper and serve.
