I am no Oprah but I know for a ‘fact’ that alcohol enthusiasts like us deserve delicious cocktail recipes like the ones mentioned below. So, get the flower buds ready, get your spirits up (pun intended) and shake and strain until you have one of these 5 botanical cocktails in your hand. 

1. Lavender Rose Spritzer

A fancy delectable drink! I am going to ask my friends to propose to their girlfriends over an evening of Italian dinner and a few glasses of mesmerizing Lavender Rose Spritzer cocktail. And because you are my friend, please propose to your girlfriend over Italian dinner and Lavender Rose Spritzer cocktail?

What you’ll need:

  • 1 bottle sparkling rosé wine
  • 1 bottle soda
  • 2 tablespoons culinary lavender
  • 24+ organic rose petals
  • 2 teaspoons organic rose water
  • Lavender stalks

Instructions:

  • Fill 2 ice trays halfway with water and add a few lavender buds and rose petals to each cavity
  • Freeze for an hour before filling the ice cube cavities with more water
  • Freeze for 2 hours before adding at least 6 cubes to your glass
  • Fill the glass halfway with soda
  • Add lavender stalks and a splash of rose water
  • Add sparkling rosé wine and serve immediately

2. Spiked Hibiscus Iced Tea

Iced tea was my saviour when I was staying in the hot city of Delhi. If I had known of this boozy recipe of Spiked Hibiscus Iced Tea back then, I believe my life would have been a lot easier!

What you’ll need:

Lemon Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup unrefined sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3-4 lemons
  • 1 TBSP lemon zest

Iced Tea

  • 8 hibiscus tea bags
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup blueberry-infused vodka
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup lemon simple syrup

Garnish

  • Edible flowers
  • Fresh mint sprigs
  • Lemon Wedges

Instructions:

Lemon Simple Syrup

  • Add lemon juice, water and sugar in a saucepan, and mix well
  • Bring the mix to a light boil over medium heat
  • Stir for 10 mins on low heat until sugar dissolves
  • Keep it aside and add lemon zest to it. Let it cool for 10 mins after
  • Strain it through a sieve into a glass

Iced Tea

  • Put the hibiscus tea bags into a heat-resistant pitcher while you boil 4 cups of water
  • Add the boiling water to the pitcher and keep it aside for 10 mins
  • Remove the tea bags, and add lemon simple syrup and 4 cups of room temperature water to it
  • Let it cool for 10 minutes
  • Add the vodka to the pitcher and stir well
  • Add ice to it and refrigerate for 30 mins
  • Pour the cocktail into sugar-rimmed glasses and toss in some fresh mint sprigs
  • Garnish with edible flowers and lemon wedges

3. Hang Thyme

The easiest recipe in this listicle, you need to make yourself a Hang Thyme this weekend to relax over some Netflix binging, Swiggy and dim lighting.

What you’ll need:

  • 5 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 60 ml vodka
  • 2 spoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 spoons simple syrup

Instructions: 

  • Muddle 4 thyme sprigs and add it to a shaker 
  • Add ice, vodka, lime juice and simple syrup to it and shake well
  • Add 3 ice cubes to a glass
  • Strain the shaker into the glass, garnish with a sprig of thyme, and serve

4. Lavender Martini

Lavender reduces stress. And a Martini helps with everything going wrong in your life. For their combined product purposes, I am making myself a Lavender Martini at least 4 times this week. To help yourself, follow these easy peasy instructions mentioned below

What you’ll need:

  • 2 spoons crème de violette
  • 15 ml gin
  • 15 ml vodka
  • 1 spoon Domaine de Canton
  • 1 spoon St. Germaine elderflower liqueur
  • 1 dash Scrappy’s Lavender Bitters
  • Lavender sprigs

Instructions:

  • Add ice and all the ingredients (except lavender sprigs) to a cocktail shaker
  • Shake well and strain into a chilled Martini glass
  • Garnish with lavender sprigs and serve

5. Pukkalini

Feel the love warming these festive months with a few glasses of Pukkalini, your pets by your side and your partner making you some tasty garlic bread dish. 

What you’ll need:

  • 5 Pukka Love tea bags
  • 25 ml Love tea essence per glass (recipe below)
  • 250 ml water
  • 25 ml pomegranate juice per glass
  • 1 bottle of prosecco
  • 1tsp of rosewater per glass
  • Rose petals

Instructions:

  • Add the Pukka Love tea bags to a heat-resistant pitcher
  • Add 250 ml of boiling water to it, cover it and keep aside for 30 mins
  • Strain and refrigerate for 2 hours (This is your Love Tea essence)
  • Pour 25 ml of Love Tea essence into a glass and add 25 ml of pomegranate juice to it
  • Top it with prosecco
  • Add 1 spoon of rosewater and garnish with a few rose petals, and serve
