Has there ever been anything you’ve ever seen on television or read in a book that’s made you think, ‘damn I wish I could have that’. Well, you’re not alone. Personally, I always wanted to eat the English picnics of The Famous Five but then I grew up and now I have a penchant for finding and craving fictional drinks.
Snakejuice, Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation had the best cast, the best dialogues and some of the best scenes of all time, one of the most memorable being the launch of Tom Haverford’s Snakejuice. This potent concoction made of different liquors, coffee, sugar and “other junk”, was so good that even Ron Swanson recommended it to other patrons. He then proceeded to go dance while everyone else also went absolutely wild. I need some of that now!
Samarian Sunset, Star Trek
A clear drink that magically becomes orange and gold after being tapped? Sign me up right now! It’s been described as being a sour drink which is also weak, but everyone seems to really enjoy it. So the next time you’re heading to space, make sure to ask for it at the nearest space station.
Flaming Moe, The Simpsons
Moe may not have the same charm we’ve come to expect from bartenders but you can’t deny that he’s always kept us very entertained. So, it’s only fitting that there be a snazzy drink to his name (even if it’s stolen from Homer). The drink may have different liquors and a fictional brand of cough syrup and may also be highly flammable, but we’ll take it nevertheless.
Black Yukon Sucker Punch, Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks is a great show, but what’s even greater is the mysterious cocktail that seems to be the town’s speciality – the Black Yukon Sucker Punch. The layered drink had blue foam and a tar coloured bottom that made us want to try it at least once. I mean, with a name like that, and considering how popular it was, it has to be good right?
Schaderbrau, Breaking Bad
Remember this? The ‘brewed to silky perfection’ beer made by Hank Schrader, the cop who also happens to be the brother-in-law of a guy that runs a meth lab. Hank believed this beer was good enough to be a prize in a fundraiser, and I’m inclined to believe. I have no self-preservation instinct and think homebrews are made with love, so bring it on, Hank! (oh, he’s umm.. dead)
