The United States of America brews a hell lot of craft beer, and there are a number of these beers that have earned credibility of being the most reputed craft beers in the country because of the numerous awards they’ve won.
Pliny the Elder
Brewed by Russian River Brewing in California USA, this IPA is named after a Roman scholar Pliny the Elder, who was widely regarded as the one of the earliest to study hops, which adds the bitterness to craft beer. While IPAs are characteristically hoppy, this brew contains twice the amount of hops compared to regular IPAs, but is also well balanced out with a malty and citrusy flavour.
Deschutes The Abyss
Brewed by Descheutes Brewery in Oregon, this imperial stout is brewed in oak and bourbon barrels, lending it a truly rich and dark taste. The Abyss has brought Deschutes a number of craft beer awards because of its truly unique flavour, peppered with vanilla and cherry. This one is for the hardcore beer enthusiast.
Gnomegang
Brewed by Brewery Ommegang in New York, this delicious blonde ale is smooth on the palate, with a distinct clove and light caramel aroma, lending it a pleasing fruity taste. Gnomegang has put Brewery Ommegang on the map, and has been acknowledged at prestigious beer awarding platforms.
Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust
This extremely cool sounding American Pale Ale is brewed by Three Floyd’s Brewing Company in Indiana. Contrary to the heavy name, this ale is delightfully light with a dash of citrus and caramel, making it very popular in the United States.
Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar
This brown ale is brewed by Rogue Ales brewery in Oregon. As the name suggests, it has a rich hazelnut aroma with a nutty flavour and a nice malty touch. This one has been a regular gold medalist at the Great American Beer Festival, a prestigious event honouring some of the top craft beers in the states. It is chocolaty and savoury.
