Celebrity owned liquor brands are aplenty but only few of them survive to see the light of the next few years. While some have extremely hyped-up, heavily promoted brands, some are low-key and make for fun celeb trivia. Here are some that might actually surprise you –
Marilyn Manson – Mansinthe
If anybody knows how to market the creepy and out of the ordinary, it’s rock royalty Marilyn Manson. His absinthe, tastefully called Mansinthe, is created in Switzerland. Of course, it’s green as any good absinthe should be and comes with a 66.6% proof and goth Manson art of course. The singer-songwriter is known to drink exclusively absinthe and touch nothing else, so maybe you should too!
Dave Matthews – Dreaming Tree Wines
Dreaming Tree Wines is just as wholesome as the frontman of Dave Matthews Band – Dave Matthews. With a passion for all things wine and sustainability, he has created something truly unique. The labels are recycled and even the bottles are lighter so as to spend less fuel moving them. I’m going to order myself an entire truck and plan a nice Dave Matthews night at home now.
Hanson – Mmmhops
When I found out about this, admittedly very recently, I think I internally squealed because of the admirable pun. The one-hit wonder band Hanson created Mmmbop that took the US by storm in 1997 and subsequently never produced anything worthy of being an earworm ever again. But at least we have a pale ale credited to them with a hilarious name.
Santana – DVX
DVX may sound like a harsh tequila but it is, in fact, legendary guitarist Carlos Santana’s venture into wines in collaboration with Mumm Napa. Created in 1999, this wine is made of blends handpicked through tastings by the maestro himself. Now I don’t know if he makes wines as well as he plays, but I’d be open to giving it a shot, wouldn’t you?
Justin Timberlake – Sauza 901
It’s hard not to like Justin Timberlake – he seems friendly, goofy and charming. That’s probably why his partnership with Sauza Liquors, named after the area code he grew up in in Memphis, is so popular. The tequila is meant to be had on its own to truly appreciate the hardwork that went in behind-the-scenes but we don’t think Justin would mind if you added in some mixers.
