5 Non-Grape Fruit Wines From Rhythm Winery

A Pune-based winery, Rhythm Winery has worked passionately to bring a range of tropical fruit wines to the Indian wine market. The winery holds a capacity of producing 50,000 liters of wine a year, using high-quality seasonal fruits to ferment the delicious alcoholic beverage. In 2014, the winery collaborated with Arunachal Pradesh Government to produce kiwi wine from the excellent kiwi produce grown in the state.

1. Alphonso Wine

One of the most popular wines from Rhythm Winery, Alphonso wine is THE wine one needs to sip to explore this delicious world of fruit wines. Mangoes from the Konkan region of Maharashtra are blended with a base of grape wine to produce a semi-sweet beverage that complements spicy Indian cuisine like curry rice. The wine is bottled at 12%-13% ABV and is recommended to be served at 8-10° C for a great experience.

2. Strawberry Wine

The savoury strawberry wine is made from two strawberry varieties, Sweet Charlie and Kamaroza, which are sourced from the orchards of Mahabaleshwar. The tangy-sweet taste of the wine makes it suitable for brunches and Indian meals consisting of kebabs, salads and milk desserts. It is bottled at 12% ABV and is best enjoyed when served chilled.

3. Arun Kiwi Wine

This kiwi wine uses the best quality of kiwi fruits which are sourced from the high altitude regions of Arunachal Pradesh. The unripe produce is blended with a grape base to produce the semi-sweet fruit wine. It is a lunch wine and is best paired with white sauce pasta and seafood. The wine is bottled at 12%-13% ABV and is recommended to be served at 10-12° C for a great wine & dine.

4. Peach Wine

Peach varieties like White Giant, Starking Delicious and Candor are sourced from Himalayan regions to produce this delicate fruit wine. The tart-sweet taste of the peach wine makes it a great accompaniment to cakes and sweet breads during evening snacking hours. The wine is bottled at 12%-13% ABV and is at its best when served at 6-8° C.

5. Plum Wine

Damsun plums are sourced from the foothills of the Himalayas to produce this rich and soft-textured wine. Its semi-sweet and tart taste goes extremely well with creamy-textured Indian snacks like dhoklas as well as cheese & crackers and malai kebabs. The wine is bottled at 12%-13% ABV, and is best enjoyed at 8-10° C.
