Rap and alcohol go together like wine and cheese – perfectly. It’s no secret that rappers love themselves a glass or five every once in a while. So it was obvious to many moguls of the hip-hop world to venture into the business of liquor and create some fine drinks that’s finding place in every glass around the world.
P Diddy – Ciroc
Of course this one’s on top. The highest earning musician in the world had to go out and get his hands on some great vodka and make it even better. The brand wasn’t doing so well before Diddy hopped onboard and the sales skyrocketed. The vodka is made of grapes, instead of the usual potatoes, and has a whole lot of flavour.
Jay Z – D’Usse Cognac
If there’s a new avenue, hip-hop royalty Jay Z is probably already ruling it. And he did just that by launching his own V.S.O.P. that tastes like a young cognac that could take over the best of the best. He even drank some from the Grammy he won in 2013, so you know it’s worth saving a space on your shelf for. If you’re a fan of fruity, honey-like cognac that works well in cocktails, this one’s for you. P.S. He also bought Armand de Brignac Champagne if you’re not the cognac type.
Nicki Minaj – Myx Fusions Moscato
Speaking of hip-hop royalty, it’s no secret that Nicki Minaj is the current queen and she’s been doing pretty great in the liquor business too. After becoming part owner of the wine in 2014, the brand’s sales increased 500 per cent! This fruit-infused wine comes in three varieties including one with coconut and another with peach. Yum!
Drake – Virginia Black Bourbon
The ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper’s had a great journey through hip-hop and with the launch of his own whisky in 2016, it got even better. This smooth bourbon comes in a stunning bottle and is great for people who enjoy less alcohol content (80 proof), but more flavour.
Ludacris – Conjure Cognac
Ludacris has owned Conjure Cognac since 2009, and dare we say, it’s probably one of the best tasting celeb-owned liquors out there. He wasn’t just one of the first rappers to begin associating with the alcohol business, but also blend the cognac himself! No wonder it came out so well!
