Sarah Mitchell, The London Cocktail Club – London
After having started small, as a shaker at the Amber Lounge in Sydney, she’s come a long way. She’s, today, the general manager of The London Cocktail Club, one of the most exclusive hotspots to grab a drink. She is also the master of her craft and she’s proved it by inventing the crazy popular drink – the Red Dragon, a blend of Bacardi, pineapple juice and Chinese five spice.
Three years into her career, this 27-year-old was named Diageo Reserve’s Mexico’s World Class Bartender and that’s solid proof for her skills and passion for mixology. Her achievements seem even more impressive when you realise that Mexico didn’t allow women behind the bar counter for decades.
A proud member of St. Germain Ladies bartender club, she’s had gigs in some of the most sought-after bars across the continents including Quo Vadis in Soho. A huge advocate for Champagne cocktails, her Bohemian Swizzle is a delight, apparently.
They say don’t wait for opportunities, just make them happen. Julie Reiner did exactly that. One of the most respected female mixologists in the world, she owns and runs both Clover Club and Flatiron. Seasonal ingredients are her superpower, and she is a proud propagator of using tea in cocktails. She believes that with skills and good flavours, one can be triumphant.
Most cocktail enthusiasts identify Montague as the frontrunner for cocktail innovation and unsurprisingly, her cocktail bar won the Best Cocktail Menu award. The whisky brand ambassador for Diageo Reserve GB, she’s also been shortlisted as the Best International Bartender. Creative and original recipes are her strength and she’s on her way to building a wonderland of cocktails.
