Last year, the stars at the Emmy Awards drank botanical-themed vodka cocktails – the green tea infused Enlightenment, Ancho Reyes chile liqueur-ed Labyrinth, rosé syrup incorporated Radiance and the dairy-free Restoration. These drinks were created by the Chicago-born mixologist and entrepreneur Charles Joy, in collaboration with Ketel One Family-Made Vodka which served as an official spirits partner at the Emmy Awards 2018.
Ketel One Family-Made Vodka was an official spirits partner at this year’s Emmy as well, and with Charles Joy on board again, one could only expect something grander than last year.
Dapper Dragon
This colourful cocktail had exotic fruits and spices ruling the drink. Apt for all the winners, I am assuming they might have cherished their award with every sip of this tropical cocktail. What’s better than winning an Emmy and getting tipsy on a Dapper Dragon?
Moonlighter
A bit of pineapple juice and a bit of cold brew makes this banana chai foam infused cocktail a unique and mouth-watering drink to share with the stars. If I were a nominee and wanted to feel great about my nomination and forget about losing the award, I would have spent the night with a Moonlighter in my hand.
The Helmsman
Of course they had to make a special drink for teetotalers too! Inspired by the Moscow Mule, The Helmsman played with coconut, papaya and citrus to stand out as the most refreshing drink at the Emmy Awards 2019.
Charles Joy also created the Marvelous Mule that was served at the private after-party event called Governor’s Ball. Apart from these drinks, Napa Valley winery Sterling Vineyards served more than 10,000 glasses of red wine, with over 1500 bottles uncorked, and Don Francisco’s Coffee served cups of much-needed coffee to all the attendees and organizers to keep their spirits (and eyelids) up.
