Imagine if you could adopt a pupper by buying a can of beer, just imagine. Well, it still isn’t a reality (yet!) but a Florida brewery came very close to the idea this 2020.
Motorworks Brewery has won the hearts and bellies of all dog and beer lovers by encouraging the adoption of shelter dogs by releasing a special beer variant that has pictures of the sweet puppers on its design label. Partnering with Shelter Manatee, the brewery rolled out the exclusive Adoptable Dog Cruiser Kölsch 4-Pack to help the fur babies find their hoomans.
The beer cans also feature the life story of each dog and information on the adoption process. And guess what? The proceeds go to Shelter Manatee towards building a new shelter for the less fortunate dogs!
This initiative by the Motorworks Brewery has gained a lot of support on the internet and has helped more than two dogs find loving homes in the last three days. The brewery has announced its plans of continuing the production of Adoptable Dog Cruiser Kölsch 4-Pack to help more love-starved dogs find happy homes.
A little about the beer now? This light German Kölsch-style ale is brewed with pilsner and wheat malt, and is canned at 4.8% ABV. The brew is a delicious balance of fruity-sweetness and hoppy-bitterness. It boasts a clean and slightly dry finish, and is perfect for an easy day.
Motorworks Brewery’s idea has been a huge success as the beers are selling fast and the shelter is busy with adoption phone calls and enquiries. I hope Indian breweries follow suit and help our loving four-legged companions find sweet homes.
