Bacardi Released A Coconut Cream Liqueur

Coconut cream liqueurs are in great demand in the bar industry, with many tropical and Christmas-themed cocktails calling for the creamy liqueur in their recipes. In the global alcohol market, Malibu is one of the most popular coconut liqueurs, while in India, we have the affordable Cabo which packs a decent coconut and rum flavour profile.

In December of 2019, the family-owned Bacardi released a ready-to-drink Coquito in the US market, which is a popular coconut cream concoction in the Caribbean regions. Similar to eggnog, Coquito is enjoyed during Christmas and other festivities in the Puerto Rican regions.

Coquito stands for ‘Little Coconut’ in Spanish and has its roots deep in the Caribbean culture. Bacardi Coquito has successfully used the traditional Caribbean recipes to introduce a delicious blend that mixes the brand’s signature white rum with toasted spices, coconut cream, cinnamon and vanilla. Bacardi Coquito is gluten-free and can be enjoyed by a wider consumer-base in the US.

It is recommended to experience the brand’s Coquito neat over ice or as a topping on ice creams and as a stuffing in desserts. Bacardi partnered with the New York-based Brooklyn Cupcake to sell Coquito Cupcakes in the city early on, which infused the cupcakes with the brand’s newest offering as a part of the liqueur’s marketing campaign.

Bacardi Coquito is bottled at 13% ABV and a 700 ml bottle of it is priced at US $17.99. The liqueur is available for purchase at selective grocery and liquor stores in the country and can be bought online from Drizly. Wouldn’t it be heavenly if we could get our hands on a bottle each during this lockdown?
