Not every drinker is the same. Some people love exploring new varieties at newly opened places while some prefer sitting in their PJs and drinking the same old Kingfisher beer happily. If you’re someone who genuinely enjoys different ambiences, unique experiences and good food, here are a bunch of offbeat bars that you must try.
11 East Street Cafe, Pune: I don’t know why Pune bars don’t get their due, so I am gonna give them some. With an English style bus welcoming you, 11 East Street Cafe recreates the London vibe with high street feels and a typical English ambience. Their inhouse bakery is lovely, the live kitchen is a visual treat and of course, the lounge bar is equally badass too. Try their Fish and Chips and Bacardi Chicken, because duh, yummy!
Black Pearl, Bengaluru: All Pirates of the Caribbean fans say ‘ahoy!’ because Bangalore has a resto-bar that will make you feel like the captain of your ship. With the staff dressed as pirates and an interior design that makes you feel like you are enjoying the windy open sea, this place is perfect for a movie buff. Oh, and also their cocktail menu can give any bar a run for their money.
U-Turn Box Office Lounge, Mumbai: If you are someone who is fully armed with two variations of the Bole Choodiyaan routine and can’t not sing along with “oh oh jaane jaana”, this place is for you, my friend. U-Turn Lounge will make the Bollywood fan in you truly happy. With walls and tables covered with movie posters and stills, you’ll have an overdose of Hindi cinema and pocket friendly cocktails before you step out.
Arbor Brewing Company, Bangalore: If you are a microbrewery enthusiast, this place should be on top of your list. This place rolls the awesomeness of a contemporary bar and the raw goodness of a microbrewery into one. Arbor brings under its roof about 15 microbreweries and provides some great food too. Their Belgian Blonde and the Raging Elephant IPA are amazing, but you might have to be really patient because this place is always crowded.
PCO, Delhi: Who doesn’t like some exclusivity? PCO makes you feel honored at the very entrance, with its New York speakeasy tradition of sneaking into a phone booth, lifting an old school receiver and punching a four-digit code to secure entry. Apart from the spy vibes, this bar has renowned bartender Manmohan Singh behind the counter, so you are in for the best cocktails in the city too. It’s a total win win.
