The Indian craft beer industry sure has come a long way since it first boomed. If you don’t believe us, maybe Indian beer brand Bira 91’s multiple wins at the prestigious European Beer Challenge 2020 will plead a better case.
The competition, the finale of which was held in London County Hall and judged by beer buyers, saw a plethora of samples from around 39 countries fight it out to be the best. Bira 91’s limited release IPA brewed with Pomelo won a double gold medal while their Blonde Summer Lager won a gold. Their Boom beers also won big with the Strong scoring a silver and the Classic winning a bronze. Last but not the least, the Bira 91 White that we all know and love also scored a bronze.
While we can’t say it was much of a surprise to see Bira 91 win so many accolades, it’s great to see Indian craft beers be recognised the world over. We can’t wait for many more Indian contenders to join the European Beer Challenge next year!
