Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters And Sula Vineyards Collaborate On A Coffee Brew

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters has come a long way and is responsible for changing the specialty coffee market in India. The company started out with a small 1 kg machine in 2013, and today, enjoys a presence in 8 metropolitan cities of India. The brand has its own coffee outlets, spread in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Jaipur, Noida, Gurgaon and Goa, where enthusiasts can sit and experience coffee in a fascinating way.

Known for its specialty coffee offerings, Blue Tokai has partnered with the renowned Sula Vineyards to release a medium-dark coffee in the market this time. Taking experimentation a step forward, the coffee label uses Sula’s used wine barrels to store its green beans for a period of two months. Once in 15 days, the beans are rotated to help them soak in the remnants of the barrel, giving the beans bold flavours of rich red grapes and oak. For this blend, Blue Tokai uses two of its most popular single-estate coffees – the chocolate-flavoured Attikan and the red fruit-flavoured Bibi.

The result of this barrel ageing is an exciting flavourful coffee that stands out upon its very first sip. The in-house Blue Tokai brewers prefer to brew espresso with the beans but it makes for a delightful cold brew as well. The coffee label has introduced a limited-edition cold brew called Barrel Aged Cold Brew that boasts flavours of dark chocolate, grape and currant. The production process requires the beans to be cold-brewed for 16 hours, the end result being a low-acidic heavy-bodied rich coffee brew.

As announced by the label, Blue Tokai does not add any flavour additives to the coffee. One experiences the blend in its truest flavour form. You can get a sip of the coffee at the label’s Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai outlets currently, with the release being made available in Jaipur, Goa and Calcutta in the coming time.
