Boveda Bistro

You know those places which do not evoke any emotion out of you? The ones you don’t hate and don’t like either? The ones that do just, NOTHING to you? Yeah well, no prizes for guessing how I felt about my latest Andheri Adventure.

Too cramped for comfort with strangers forced to enter your personal space

To be fair, this time, I cannot blame my friends. It wasn’t them, but an ex from the not-so-recent past who was the reason for my plight.

The name given to the place is Boveda. I renamed it Boreda. Just a lot more apt owing to how effing bored it made me!
Meeting an ex flame (yes, I know… I dated someone from the burbs. Relax, everyone deserves a chance. And I was feeling charitable) gets you thinking of all those memories gone by. I was just wondering why in the world I ever broke up with him, when I walked in and felt exactly how I did most times with the ex – unimpressed.

Bummer no. 1: The outside was like chairs and tables (albeit nice ones) put out in someone’s front yard. The bar is just wrongly placed and has tables too close to it. Architecture and design 101, guys. Too cramped for comfort and people in my personal space is so not my style.

If that wasn’t enough, this is Bummer no. 2 – there’s no music outside! Well, at least not the audible kinds (I’m sorry, is there any other?). The only snatches I caught were when the door to the indoors would open. This meant that I’d have to actually listen to what the ex had to say. Not cool.

In order to get away from the boredom that was the outside and my company, I walked into the inside section under the pretext of using the restroom (calling it anything else is just not acceptable).

Indoors, though livelier (thank god for music) were not much better. The guys over at Boveda need to work on the seating because I almost tripped twice. Actually they could work on the lighting as well.

I’d had enough. Ex or no ex, I was getting out of there. A dashed, clearly made up excuse later, I was settled snug in my ride back to town or as I like to call it, civilization.

I was so bored out of my mind by the time I started writing this, I don’t even remember what I ate or drank.

I actually need a drink; I think I’ll head to Aer. Toodles!

Where? Off Oshiwara Link Road, Morya Landmark 1, Ground Floor, Andheri West
