Bumbu, an ultra-premium rum label by the Berish family-owned Sovereign Brands has become one of the fastest-growing rum brands in the world. Already dominating the grand US market, the rum has been continuously generating high sales in over 60 countries globally.

With its award-winning rum offering like Original Bumbu and the new rum label Bumbu XO, the small-batch craft rum brand has become one of the most critically-acclaimed rum brands in the world. It’s first offering, Original Bumbu has been honoured with 5 gold medals in a span of just two years at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in Los Angeles!

Original Bumbu is a Barbadian craft rum which was made popular by the famous rapper Lil Wayne in 2018. The rapper marketed the rum as G.O.A.T., which is an acronym for ‘Greatest Of All Time’. The rum is based on a 400 year old recipe that was used by 16th & 17th century Caribbean sailors to distill the spirit. The recipe required the infusion of  Caribbean fruits and spices into the rum, which, today, is thoroughly followed through by Bumbu distillers. So much so that the distillers use the exact all natural-spices mentioned in the recipe and add no artificial colours or flavours to it.

Original Bumbu is distilled from an excellent quality of sugarcane juice, for which sugarcanes are procured from eight West Indies countries. The rum is aged for 15 years in American oak Bourbon barrels, which gives it its celebrated taste.

Bumbu XO, a new rum offering by Bumbu Rum is an 18 year old rum which is aged in Bourbon barrels and finished in Spanish white oak sherry casks. It is distilled and aged in Panama, carrying a rich, smooth and complex character. The rum offers an aroma of toffee, toasted oak, and vanilla and a flavour profile of orange zest, peppery spice and coffee.

Though it is a perfect base spirit for traditional rum cocktail recipes, Bumbu XO is recommended to be enjoyed neat with a single ice cube which adds a complementary coolness to the spirit.

The Bumbu rums are distilled in an 1893-founded distillery that has been continuously operating for over 120 years. The yeast used by the distillery in the fermentation of its rum labels is a long-held secret that dates back to 1840. The smooth and light rums are said to be a product of the naturally limestone-filtered water which is used in their distillation process.

While Original Bumbu is bottled at 35% ABV and priced at around US $35, Bumbu XO is bottled at 40% ABV and priced at around US $45.
