Summer is coming, and summer brings lemonade with it. What if we told you that you could now have whisky with lemonade? That too in a can!
Crown Royal, a whisky brand of the renowned group Diageo has introduced a ready-to-drink (RTD) whisky lemonade canned cocktail, aimed at consumers searching for a refreshing alcoholic beverage for Spring and Summer.
The press release mentions that the drink combines ‘the refreshingly light taste of lemonade with fruity whisky notes.’ It is said to have an effervescent taste with a balance of sweet and tart flavours. These flavours are of course accompanied by a distinct whiskey character.
“At Crown Royal we’re continuously ideating new blends and flavour profiles to meet the evolving tastes of our drinkers,” said Nicky Heckles, Vice President at Crown Royal. “The new Whisky Lemonade flavour is the latest innovation that fuses a familiar summertime staple with the boldness of our whisky, providing a fresh take on ready-to-drink cocktails.”
This new flavour is a unique addition to Crown Royal’s award-winning collection of Whisky & Cola, Washington Apple, and Peach Tea ready-to-drink liquor. The RTD liquor market is presently booming with many popular brands such as Bacardi and Pernod Ricard introducing their own innovative flavours.
Crown Royal is originally known for its popular line of whiskies. The first exquisite blend of Crown Royal Canadian whisky was made from 50 chosen whiskies and packaged in a regal purple bag with gold stitching as a gift for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England to mark their royal visit to Canada in 1939. The Crown Royal bottle in a bag has kept its covering for over 80 years and has become a king of spirits in its own right.
The press release also mentions that ‘this new, bold flavour is what turns parties into block parties, BBQ’s into neighbourhood feasts, making it the perfect choice to enjoy with friends and family this spring and summer.’
