Goose dropping stout is making news in Finland

Yes, you heard that right. A Finnish brewery claims to use goose poop to create a special line of stouts. And the range is hilariously named Wasted Potential.

This might shock most but Ant Brew says that the goose droppings they use are not only absolutely safe but also add a ‘certain depth’ to the brew. They add that the waste is used in a food-safe manner to smoke the malt that is essential in creating the beer. This is all in efforts to develop a sustainable beer and create conversation around utilisation of waste, local food and urban farming.

The very special ingredient is gathered by a team that heads to local parks and cleans them of the goose droppings. The Wasted Potential beers also use herbs that were previously just food waste.

Now we’ve definitely seen it all.
