Have You Tried Adinco Distilleries’ Tinto Feni Yet?

Summer is right around the corner and that means many of us will be making some successful (and unsuccessful) Goa plans. If you have explored the state before, you must have already come across the regional alcoholic distilled beverage ‘feni’. A popular drink in Goa, feni is distilled from cashew nuts and packs an incomparable boozy punch.

While you might find localities distilling feni for their personal consumption, many Goan entrepreneurs distill the spirit for commercial distribution which is easily available in the state and makes for a convenient consumption for visitors. One of the distilleries that make feni a convenient affair is the family-owned Adinco Distilleries. It is a boutique distillery that not only distills and distributes feni but holds a vast range of other spirits under its name.

Run by the fourth generation of the Diniz family, Adinco was formally established in 1970 but has its roots settled in the late 1800s. Aleixo Diniz founded the company by distilling feni at his Quepem home in the state with Alleluia Diniz setting up a production unit in 2000. Today, Adinco Distilleries takes pride in offering premium liquors and liqueurs to the enthusiasts in the state.

Tinto – Heritage Cashew Feni is distilled from the finest quality of botanicals that consist of herbs, fruits and spices along with some other ingredients. It is produced in small batches at the Diniz house and is priced at around INR 500. Packing the rich culture of Goa in every sip, Tinto feni boasts a fruity flavour profile and an intense but delicate aroma!

Apart from Tinto, Adinco Distilleries is popular for its Cabo rum coconut liqueur which makes for a great mixer and a stand-alone alcoholic beverage in the country. It acts as an excellent and reasonably priced substitute of the popular Malibu coconut liqueur.
