Have You Tried Medusa Beer Yet?

Ever since its launch in 2018 in the capital city of Delhi, Medusa beer has generated high praise from regional beer enthusiasts. Marketed as a premium strong beer, Medusa was able to get a hold of a good market share in the city of Delhi. In the first year of its launch, the brand sold 300,000 cases of beer, boasting an impressive turnover of 70 crores!

Medusa beer is defined as a commercial lager beer that uses the very best of ingredients to brew the beverage, including German-imported hops, Danish yeast and barley from India. This produces a mild-tasting beer that packs a strong punch similar to the likes of Budweiser Magnum and Carlsberg Elephant beers. As it is priced at INR 100, Medusa has proved to be a direct competitor of even the best foreign strong beer brands in the market.

With an interesting packaging design to satisfy the creative minds of today’s consumer-base, Medusa has added an excellent brand recall value to its beer. The label depicts the mythological character of Medusa who is known for having a head full of snakes instead of hair. The myth narrates the tale of men who turn into stones upon laying their eyes on her. The founder of the beer line, Avneet Singh, chose Medusa as the name and on the design label because he feels the beer helps the drinkers feel stoned.

The beer was introduced in Delhi first, expanding its market in UP, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh and Punjab after. Instead of investing in infrastructure, the brand will continue to invest in its marketing model, with the plan to roll out the beverage all across India in the next 5 years.

Currently, Medusa uses a leased brewery in Punjab to produce its beer that holds the capacity to produce 10 lakhs cases a year. Bottled at 5.9% ABV, Medusa beer is available in a 500 ml can and 650 ml bottle with plans to introduce 330 ml cans and 500 ml bottles soon.

If you have tried the beer or would like to in the coming months, share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
