Hedonne – Kolkata’s Largest Liquor Store

Hedonne is Kolkata's largest liquor store

Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce you to the place where luxury meets alcohol. Spanning over 7500 square feet, Hedonne has a lot to offer. This place is an experimental liquor store located in Kolkata, West Bengal that changes your way of shopping liquor completely.

Named after the Greek personified spirit of pleasure and enjoyment, Hedonne promises to fulfill every alcohol-oriented desire and quench every thirst for liquor-filled pleasure.

What’s Inside the Hedonne

Hedonne packs two sections, for wine enthusiasts and spirit lovers. Both sections are equipped with sommeliers who are available to guide and provide their expertise on the subject. This beats the off-brand shopping experience from a general liquor store where you are expected to blabber the first brand name that comes to your mind because nobody has the time to explain.

This was one of the reasons Anurag, Vikas, Anand, and Mayank decided to open a luxury store. Hedonne also comes with its own tasting room that is packed with about 40 plush chair seating and has a menu that offers wine tasting for bottles that cost INR 10,000 and above. It costs around INR 300-400 for every 30 ml of alcohol tasting. But isn’t that better than assuming and spending a lump sum amount on skepticism of liking the wine? This way you’re sure of what you’re investing in.

Hedonne also plans on investing in a new section for Cuban and Latin cigars. This would also include accessories like cigar boxes, storage, and cutters.

The Aim Of Hedonne

The idea of this liquor store was cultivated in the minds of 5 founders — Mayank Shroff, Anant Shroff, Vikas Murarka, Anurag Murarka, and Vikash Musaddi. The idea dawned on them when they realized that off-branded liquor stores cannot cater to the needs and interests of alcohol users. It was mainly for the fast-paced buyers. They wanted to provide a space that celebrated the creativity and brewing artistry of the industry.

On top of this, they also wanted to provide some sense of safety and attendance to their female customers. They realized that women found it difficult to shop for alcohol from off-brand shops. Hedonne aimed to provide proper etiquette and attendance towards their customers.

They have kept the pricing the same as the off-shops. It’s all about luxury and comforting ambiance at the standard price.

What’s Available At Hedonne

Their wine selection gets as intensive and massive as we can afford to imagine. Maybe more. The place contains specific sections that are divided by country, Italy, France, Australia, India, and World. Wine fanatics understand the importance of this segregation and can appreciate the help of their sommeliers in choosing the right fit.

They also have dedicated zones of each type of spirits such as vodka, wines, gin, rum, and flavored liqueurs. And here, you can shop with trolleys. Don’t leave the trolley looking empty, fill it up with booze.

Another helpful addition to this place is the Alcopedia. This is a screen with a touch sensor that allows you to understand the alcohol brands and see the availability in the store with just a few clicks. It makes your life real easy if you don’t know which one you’d like to purchase. The guide also provides taste notes and finish so you can take your pick.

Looking to purchase beer in bulk for your next house party? Hedonne has a wide selection of beers as well. Their beer coolers contain a massive amount of brands and quantities so you can buy in bulk and stock up. Other than the usual brands, you can also find dedicated spaces for Peroni’s and Coopers’ available at INR 480 and INR 475.

If you want to give a fellow alcoholic some great wines, they also have a gifting option, where they wrap the bottle and add a few other titbits like cheese and grapes for the complete package.

Do you enjoy chakna with your alcohol? They have that too. You can find chocolate-coated almonds, nuts, chips, and other various items that pair well with your liquor. Bar accessories are an added bonus in this store.

This place is worth the visit, and they promise that you’ll always come back. Here are a few details to help you.
