Introducing a vodka made from sugar beets!

This time has certainly been of inventiveness amongst other things, and husband-wife due Ben & Rochelle Brueshoff have taken that just a notch higher. Via their company Beet Spirits, they’ve launched the premium BĒT Vodka made from sugar beets.

They came upon this idea after being inspired by pioneer Henry Oxnard who revolutionised the way sugar beets were produced in the 19th century. To make the vodka the beets are first made into granulated beet sugar, then the sugar is dissolved into some nutrients and water, after which the concoction is fermented for about 2 weeks. The liquid that remains after this process is then distilled thrice, blended with filtered water and then passed through active carbon. With a meticulous procedure such as this, we’re pretty sure we’re getting one of the finest and most unique vodkas there is.

The founders intend for us to drink BĒT as a sipping vodka and as a shared experience. The vodka’s taste is said to be smooth in the beginning with a peppered spice kick at the end. You will also most likely notice a hint of vanilla to the vodka too. The many ways of creating cocktails out of this vodka are listed on their website too! We don’t need more to be sold.
