Chinese New Year began on 25th January this year and many liquor companies have jumped onboard to celebrate the Year of the Rat. One of the prominent ones is Johnnie Walker that released a limited edition Blue Label bottle that is a collectible-addict’s dream!
Artist Shirley Gong is the talented artist behind the illustrations on the label which reflects the prosperity and abundance that the Rat stands for. The art, in turn, reflects the same craftsmanship and dedication that Johnnie Walker puts into creating their whiskies.
The nose of the Blue Label consists of a dry smokiness that is complemented by a raisin-like sweetness. On the palate, the whiskey truly shines with the first sip being velvety and filled with the flavours of hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges. Smoke, pepper and spice finish the liquor off nicely.
Don’t really need to sell it further, do I? It makes for the perfect gift and even better addition to your personal collection. And who knows, maybe this wonderful art and luxurious whiskey will bring its owner prosperity too.
The Year Of The Rat Limited Edition is available at select retailers internationally and is priced at USD 275.
