Kate Hudson’s Vodka to Disrupt the Male-Led Vodka Market

When the popular actress and entrepreneur, Kate Hudson, announced her plans to enter the vodka market with her craft vodka, few were skeptical of the decision. But she was determined to have a woman-owned vodka line in the industry!

King St. Vodka, inspired by Hudson’s memories of living on King Street in the city of New York, is a collaboration between the actress and David Kanbar who is the man behind the well-known drinks brand – Skinnygirl. The vodka, which is produced in Santa Barbara in California, is distilled using GMO-free corn and alkaline water, which yields a gluten-free premium spirit. Distilled seven times under the supervision of master distiller Ian Cutler, the vodka flaunts a subtle vanilla flavour, and the usage of the best quality of ingredients promises a cleaner and a smoother vodka to the public.

The vodka comes in a beautiful bottle, which was a design necessity for Hudson. She wanted to have a vodka she could proudly display at her bar and bring out during celebrations. According to the actress, she wanted to establish a vodka line because the spirit is majorly consumed by women, with the share being 56% as opposed to men, and yet there was no brand owned by a female in the market.

Bottled at 43% ABV, King St. vodka is priced at US$ 24.99. After being launched in California, the spirit has been made available in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the US.

I can’t wait for the label to hit the Indian market! Tell us how excited you are about partying with a bottle of King St. Vodka in the comments below.
