Makr Shakr: The First Robot Bartender

It’s happening! Robots are taking over the world!

Okay, that’s a little bit of exaggeration… but robots are definitely the next big thing in the bar world. And it’s a good thing!

Makr Shakr is the first commercially available robot bartender to grace the spirit industry. It was designed by the new-age innovation and design firm Carlo Ratti Associati. Since its launch, Makr Shakr has served 1,610,042 drinks with the efficiency of serving 120 drinks per hour.

It shakes and stirs cocktails with the same graceful movements as that of the famous Roberto Bolle, the étoile dancer at the La Scala opera house in Milan and principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater, and well-known Marco Pelle, the renowned Italian choreographer.

All you need to do is use the Makr Shakr mobile application to place your order or craft your own cocktail recipe with spirits, liqueur and garnish to have a drink served to you in a blink.

But such exceptional service comes at a price. A vegas bar bought Makr Shakr for $1 million. But fret not, bars have the option to rent this exclusive robot bartender at a much lower price.

As of today, you can have your drink made by Makr Shakr at 17 locations across the world, two being Tipsy Robot in Las Vegas and Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi. How cool is that?

So what do you think? Is this the new way forward or do you think human bartenders can’t be easily replaced? Let us know!
