Michael Jordan Owns This Tequila Label!

Michael Jordan has been responsible for bringing the craze of basketball to cricket and soccer-preferring communities and regions. He has contributed to a grand NBA viewership and holds quite a few titles to his legacy. During his tenure on the court, he won 10 NBA scoring titles, 5 NBA Most Valuable Player and 6 NBA Champion. Till date, Jordan is the highest-paid athlete, enjoying a net worth of $1.9 billion! After retiring from the court, he dipped his toe in entrepreneurship and has managed to sustain a high income throughout.

In 2019, Michael Jordan launched his own tequila label by the name of Cincoro Tequila. The high-end ultra-luxury spirit is a partnership between Jordan and four other influential entrepreneurs – Jeanie Buss, Wes Edens, Wyc Grousbeck and Emilia Fazzalari. The tequila is a product of 3 years of hard work, which also entailed exploring more than 1000 tequilas to finalize the blend of Cincoro.

To create Cincoro Tequila, 100% Blue Weber agave is hand-picked from the private farms of the highlands and the lowlands in Mexico. The harvesters pick 6-8 year old matured agave and proceed to slow-cook it for 35 hours. The distilled spirit is then used to produce 4 tequila styles under the label – the unaged Blanco, 8-10 months aged Repasado, 24-28 months aged Anejo and 40 to 44 months aged Extra Anejo. Ex-American whiskey barrels are used to age the tequilas before they are bottled and made commercially available in the market.

Cincoro Tequila is one of the most expensive tequila labels in the market currently. Starting from the price of $70, the label’s Extra Anejo retails for a whooping sum of $1600. The bottle designs speak class and the pricing attracts the most elite of the enthusiasts. The tequila boasts a smooth and rich character and offers a complex flavour profile.
