Sula Launches India’s First Canned Wine

To complement the fast-paced life of consumers today, entrepreneurs in the alcohol industry have been introducing innovative designs and new products to maintain sales in these ever-evolving markets. From introducing ready-to-drink mixers and low ABV beverages to packaging Champagne and wine in cans, the industry has come a long way in introducing and accepting innovations to make alcohol convenient today.

While international markets like the US and UK in the west and South Korea in the east have been time-forward in ‘alcohol convenience’ via facilitating a healthy distribution of new-age innovative alcoholic beverages, markets in developing countries like India are still being explored for tried and tested innovations like flavoured tonic water and canned wine.

To kick-start the trend, India’s most popular and largest winery Sula Vineyards has launched the country’s first canned wine – Dia Sparkler! Dia, which is a decade-old brand, is known for its bottled wine that enthusiasts remember as their first-ever wine in the country. Recalled by many for its bottle design, the label has made a space for itself among wine enthusiasts. And now, Sula has decided to launch the country’s first canned wine with Dia Sparkler.

Dia Sparkler comes in two variants – Red Wine Sparkler and White Wine Sparkler. Recommended to be served chilled, Red Wine Sparkler is slightly sweet and bubbly, making for a refreshing alcoholic beverage that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. White Wine Sparkler is sweeter in character, bubbly and as refreshing as its red variant. No party will be a success without a few cans of these wines from today onwards!

These canned wines will make ‘wine’ a convenient affair in India now. Wine enthusiasts will no longer need to invest in mixers, corkscrews and fancy wine glasses anymore. One can enjoy the fermented beverage in a jiffy with a chilled can of Dia Sparkler. Canned at 8% ABV, the 330 ml cans are priced at INR 180.
