While Buckingham Palace Gin is the older brother released in July 2020, that comes from ingredients grown in the Queen’s London residence, Sandringham is the newest addition which is made of elements grown in her country home in her Norfolk Sandringham estate. The Sharon fruit and foliage from myrtle that go into the production of the Sandringham gin have a beautiful history. The sharon fruit comes from the Walled Garden and the foliage of myrtle was grown from a cutting from Princess Alexandra’s wedding bouquet – yes, her wedding to King Edward VII!
So if you have some relatives in the UK who have a long overdue visit to India and are willing to shell a hefty 67 USD on locally distilled small-batch gin from the Queen’s garden – you absolutely must try Sandringham.
