Every year, more than 500 drinking experts come together to rank all the participating bars on their cocktails and service, that aspire to make the list of World’s Best Bars. The list is then compiled by The World’s 50 Best Bars Academy and the award ceremony is held at London’s iconic Roundhouse venue. So it’s safe to say that this list has the greatest and most high-quality bars, heavily vetted, and presented to us.
Here are the bars that won the top 5 spots this year
1. Dante, New York
Dante has always attracted the finest of crowds to its doors ever since its establishment in the year 1915. Even though it has changed ownership over the years, Dante has upheld its historic integrity throughout. Today, it stands as the world’s best bar of 2019 with a classic selection of modern Italian cuisine, classic cocktails and an award-winning bar program.
Famous personalities like Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg, Jerry Seinfeld and Bob Dylan have graced this all-day restro bar from time to time.
2. Connaught Bar, London
Connaught Bar is the epitome of elegance. From having their own gin ‘The Connaught Bar Gin’, crafted by their director of mixology Ago Perrone, to serving a Vesper in hand-painted martini glasses, the bar has established itself as the best in the European bar industry over the years.
‘The Vanguard’, a collection of the classiest of cocktails from their master mixologists is well-known for its advanced imagination.
The Connaught Bar ranked fifth in the World’s Best Bars 2018.
3. Florería Atlántico, Buenos Aires

5. American Bar, London
American Bar is one of the oldest cocktails bars in Britain, with its foundation in 1893. It garnered fame for its American-style cocktails and today, the bar is not only known for its classic cocktails but also its piano music. Their award-winning bar team is behind the establishment’s unique and innovative cocktail menu – The Savoy Songbook, which honours the great artists who have entertained guests at the venue over the years.
American Bar was allocated a place in the list of World’s Best Bars in 2017 and 2018 as well.
