We Tasted Stranger & Sons Gin Cocktails at The Daily Bar & Kitchen

On the evening of 19th Dec, The Daily Bar & Kitchen in Bandra offered Stranger & Sons gin cocktails to its guests. The gin brand had invited its regional and national brand ambassadors to bartend at the venue for the night.

If you are not familiar with the brand, you should know that Stranger & Sons is an Indian craft gin that is distilled from 8 locally-sourced botanicals in a Goa distillery. The brand pays an ode to Indian businesses that are run by a single family, generation after generation.

When we arrived at the restro bar, we found it packed. Stranger & Sons had a special menu with four cocktails displayed on it for the guests. Each of them was priced at INR 550 (exclusive of taxes).

Green Lady

Green Lady

The Green Lady cocktail had an interesting list of ingredients. The concoction used gondhoraj liqueur, jasmine tea syrup, lime juice and an egg white to create a frothy green beverage.

The taste was as interesting as the ingredients. The egg white balanced the strong flavour of gondhoraj and jasmine, aiding the cocktail in emerging as a subtle blend of intense flavours.

Orange & Sweet Lime Gimlet

Orange & Sweet Lime Gimlet

The cocktail is a product of orange and lime cordial, lime juice, absinthe and Stranger & Sons gin. The orange flavour complemented the smoothness of the gin and gave out a pleasant floral aroma. The taste was excellent with a great aftertaste, which makes it a must-try.

Peruwalla

Peruwalla

Peru saccharum, lime juice, Stranger & Sons gin and a salt-sugar-chilli rim makes this drink a great order. The brilliant combination of these ingredients made this cocktail one of the showstoppers of the evening.

The rim contributed to pleasant spicy notes and resulted in a lasting aftertaste. The flavours were nostalgic, reminding one of a street-side serving of salted fruits such as guava. A must-order!

Strange G&T

Strange G&T

Strange G&T was a classic gin and tonic drink with a long ginger slice enhancing the flavour of the liquor. The drink was as refreshing as a G&T is but the Stranger & Sons gin amplified it tenfold. The smooth texture and flavour of the gin made the order a perfect one to end the night with.

After tasting all the four cocktails, we knew Stranger & Sons gin is here to shine. We highly appreciate the passion and labour that goes into the manufacturing of a bottle of the gin and would gladly declare it to be the best craft gin in the country right now!
