Be it blonde, white or IPA, things for beer lovers in India were never the same after the launch of Bira 91 in 2015.
While we can’t seem to get enough of their beer but if you happen to be one of the few who are yet to chug a Bira, here are 5 reasons for you to try one ASAP!
1. It’s far from bitter
One of the reasons why people stay away from a beer brand is because of its bitter taste. Bira prides itself on how different it is from the others, its sweet taste being a hot favourite amongst those who want to savour a sip of beer. Try it for yourself!
2. It knows when to go strong, and big!
Many thought Bira 91 would stick to their pints and light beer, but it gave the big guns a run for their money as it entered the mass market with its sub-brand Boom in Feb 2019.
Boom has two variants Classic and Super Strong.
3. Calories and Bira? What’s that?
Everyone wants to drink, and stay fit at the same time. Bira 91 Light claims to have the lowest calorie option for any alcoholic beverage in a bar, being lower than a glass of champagne. It is even lower than a glass of milk or orange juice!
4. The logo does the talking
A lot of thought went into the logo design of Bira. 91 stands for the country code of India, and the reverse B is a spirit of rebellion against the conventional beers available in the market. Packed with a host of colours like blue, orange and red, there’s no way you’re not picking up a bottle of Bira.
And here comes the monkey! Beer is serious business, but with Bira, everyone’s up to a bit of monkey business.
5. The name
Talk about a name that could come from anywhere and yet have that Indian appeal. Initially, it was to be called “Biru” (Biru is the generic name for beer in Japan) but after a registration problem in Japan, Ankur Jain, the founder, decided to call it Bira. The idea was to present India in a modern and contemporary fashion.
Set for bigger and better things, the best is yet to come. We’ll never run out of reasons when it comes to telling you just how good Bira is. Cheers!
