While bartending takes a high level of expertise, it’s also a job to get by on while working towards your passions. Since not everyone is born with a silver spoon, it’s no wonder that quite a few celebrities have played their part behind the bar before finding their fame and one true love.
Rhonda Rousey
Before becoming the renowned UFC star, Rhonda was slinging drinks at the Redwood Bar & Grill in LA. She quickly picked up bartending skills and is known to have once solved a fight at the bar by throwing a person over the counter. I would pay A LOT of money to see that and drink some of her concoctions.
Ellen DeGeneres
She would definitely make for a great bartender, and the experience on the job probably helped her becoming one of the greatest hosts on television. She has also said in the past that her least sucky odd job was making drinks.
Bruce Willis
Who would have thought that the Die Hard actor who is known for unsmiling face and rugged charm, actually was an amiable, super-talented bartender before his movie career sprung into action? He likes to remain secretive about but from what I hear, he was an expert mixologist and had quite a few flair tricks up his sleeve.
Sandra Bullock
Definitely not kidding, Sandra Bullock was a bartender while she was also working with the famed Neighbourhood Playhouse Theater. She even credits picking up several accents to her bartending job.
Jon Stewart
Not to be partial or anything, but I would give me right foot and left thumb to have met ex- Daily Show host Jon Stewart during his bartending days at the punk club City Gardens in Trenton. He loved the job and once had to wrestle a gun out of a customer’s hand during one of the many concerts held there.
