Okay ladies, read this! Craftbar offers you complimentary unlimited vodka shots and Sangrias from 8pm to 10pm every Wednesday. Branding it ‘Angels Night’, my colleague and I were more than excited to turn into drunk demonic creatures by taking full advantage of this offer.
A little alteration in our plan had another colleague and her Hinge date joining us. Well, the more the merrier, right? We arrived at Craftbar a little around 9:15 pm. Trying to make the most of the remaining 45 minutes, we ordered 6 vodka shots before we even caught our breath and found a table.
My colleague’s date arrived right on time. He entered as soon as the bartender brought our shots to us. Quick pleasantries had us downing shots like we were old friends meeting for a wild night out.
These shot glasses had salt-&-chilli powdered rims. Overall, these shots were delicious! Deliciously spicy.
To avoid getting face-down drunk, we ordered for a non-veg starter dish Pichi Potta Chicken (INR 355) and veg. main – Mushroom Risotto (INR 455). Two of us ordered for a red wine and a white wine Sangria as well. The ‘date’ wanted a red wine Sangria for himself and went to the bar to order one.
To our surprise, his Sangria looked a hundred times better than our Sangria. See for yourself –
His drink also tasted much better than ours. To stop this from ruining our mood, we ordered more vodka shots. Somehow, there was a delay and we had to ask a few members of the wait staff about the whereabouts of our ordered drinks. Till then, our food arrived and we hurriedly served ourselves.
The Pichi Potta Chicken was a disappointing eat, lacking flavours. The Mushroom Risotto was such a sad dish that we had to ask for a replacement. The dish lacked the amount of cheese a risotto requires, affecting its overall taste.
All this while our shots were served, which we downed as soon as they were placed on the table. We ordered for more but the wait staff left our table without confirming the order. Our replaced Mushroom Risotto arrived which both looked and tasted much better. One could taste the cheese and the flavours melting in one’s mouth. We placed another order for a veg. Starter Loaded Nachos (INR 195) to have a light snack with our upcoming vodka shots.
We waited, grooving to the party anthems blasting through the speakers. The music was much better here with the best of English hits being played. After a long while, I had stumbled upon a bar that did not switch to Bollywood tracks after 9:30 pm.
Time passed and the clock was way past 10 pm now. The bar wasn’t crowded enough for such a long delay. We enquired about our shots, only to be told the bar was out of them while another staff member told us that they wouldn’t serve the shots because it was past 10 pm. We reminded them that we placed the order before 10 pm but it fell on deaf ears. In all this scuffle, the bar manager was called and he pacified the situation by giving us 6 complimentary shots.
Our nachos had also arrived which turned out to be an okay order, considering the quantity served. The good taste made up for the less quantity all in all. But we finished our drinks, ate the nachos, paid the bill and decided to leave.
If you like to avoid crowded bars but love ladies night drinks offers, Craftbar is your place. Do make sure you reach by 8pm so you can take your time to get sloshed by 10 pm. The music is great as they don’t play only Bollywood tracks like most of the bars in Mumbai, the staff is polite enough and the service is decent.
If your old girlfriends are in the city after a long while and you want to catch up over free vodka shots, book a ride to Craftbar on a Wednesday!
