The Delhi Assembly Election is scheduled for the first week of February 2025, and the Delhi government has declared dry days concerning the election. According to the Delhi government’s notification, liquor stores and establishments serving alcohol will be closed from 6 PM on February 3 to 6 PM on February 5. They will also be closed on February 8, when the election results are announced.

Dry Days

The decision regarding the Delhi Assembly elections was recently announced in a gazette notification issued by the Delhi Excise Commissioner. This notification declared specific “dry days” under the Excise Rules 2010 for various excise licenses.

According to the notification, during these dry days in Delhi, no liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs, or establishments serving liquor are allowed to sell or serve liquor to anyone.

Furthermore, the gazette notification stated that non-proprietary clubs, star hotels, restaurants, and any other hotels, regardless of the licensing category for the possession and supply of liquor, will also not be allowed to serve alcohol.
