Bihar Police Seizes 300 Liters Of Alcohol
The Jaipur Police Station in Banka, Bihar received a tip off on the afternoon of 23rd March, 2025. The tip-off was that the vehicle might be heading off to Bihar from Jharkhand’s Deoghar. The liquor was being smuggled in a vehicle disguised as a school van.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Belhar Rajkishore Kumar stated that the vehicle was filled with 300 liters of alcohol. The driver who was in charge of the vehicle had fled before police arrived, leaving the vehicle deserted with hundreds of liters of alcohol.
Police recovered 929 bottles of branded foreign alcohol along the Jaipur-Banka route. These were a total of 319 liters, worth lakhs of Indian rupees.

Beer-Loving Buffalo From Bihar
Bihar also grabbed headlines recently for its beer-drinking buffalo. Raja, a 3-year old Murrah Buffalo was in the news lately for its strange drinking habits. The diet of this buffalo contains five bottles of beer daily, along with milk, apples, cashews, and high-quality fodder.
Raja is a major attraction in the annual Sonepur Cattle Fair in Bihar, also famous as Asia’s largest cattle fair. In fact, many people from Bihar and other states visit the fair only to have a glimpse of Raja.
However, with a liquor ban in Sonepur, Raja is experiencing withdrawal symptoms. The animal shows no signs of its previous vigor due to lack of alcohol, expressing concern over its health.
