Amrut Distilleries launched its new whisky expression, Kranthi, on August 8. The launch took place at a glamorous event at Four Seasons in Bengaluru by the Chairperson of Amrut Distilleries, Surekha Jagdale. Kranthi (which means revolution) discusses the various revolutions India has witnessed, such as the Green and White Revolutions. It also reflected the Indian Single Malt Revolution initiated by Amrut. It is all set to launch a phased national rollout starting with Karnataka and later reaching other markets.
The rollout of Kranthi Whisky is set to begin in Karnataka first. After this, the rollout will be slowly expanded to Mumbai, North India (Haryana & Delhi), and eastern India markets.
They have earmarked around 5,000 cases for the launch initially. But the brand now expects that the sales will significantly exceed its first-year target. This means that they expect that in its first year, the sales might reach 10,000 to 15,000 cases. The expectations are a result of the response the liquid has received so far.
The journey of Amrut Distilleries does not talk just about the growth of a business. Instead, it talks about a profound shift in how the world looks at Indian excellence and craftsmanship. It is a legacy that was inspired by late Neelkanth Rao Jagdale’s vision.

The whisky is matured in four different types of casks, which gives this drink a very differentiated character. Its flavor profile features a fruit-forward nose of pomelo, coconut, and tropical fruits. This whisky offers a creamy vanilla palate with soft spice and gentle tannins.
The next defining feature is that the drink’s appearance is deliberately cloudy. Unlike conventional whiskies, which are chill-filtered, this new whisky is the opposite. Yes, it does not at all use the chilling filter to retain rich organic compounds. It is bottled at 40% Alcohol by Volume (ABV).
It is distilled from high-quality two-row barley seeds, which are sourced from India’s northern region. Bengaluru’s intense local warmth accelerates the interaction between the wood and spirit compared to cold regions like Scotland.
