Imagine you are wearing a silk long dress and are walking into a Roman restaurant with huge chandeliers and dim lights around. Well, that is the same elegance and luxury we felt when we walked into Belmarose in Mumbai. Known as a fine-dining restaurant and high-energy bar, this luxurious Roman-themed space is just amazing. With opulent designs and a charming bar space, we have been seeing the space on the screen of our phone, and so decided to check it out ourselves if it is worth the hype. Here’s an unfiltered, unsobered review for you!
Belmarose feels like the meeting spot of European elegance and modern luxury nightlife. It is an immersive destination that seamlessly transitions from an unhurried European-style fine dining restaurant to a high-energy, glamorous nightlife escape.
The name is inspired by the Italian word Bella; the name Belmarose means “beautiful rose”. Just like its name, the place offers elegance, luxury, warmth, and romance.

It is spread across 5,000 sq. ft of space, and the interiors are inspired by Roman and European aesthetics. You will spot various details related to both these cultures everywhere. From chandeliers to sculptures, the place is sure to transport you to the Romanian era.
The bar space is known as the gravitational center, which bridges the gap between the fine-dining space and the high-energy bar. With Roman-inspired elegance, the bar features artistic textures and premium leather finishes. It also has a moody, warm light that casts a glow over the counter. Led by master mixologists, the bar becomes the high-octane epicenter after 11 PM.

Lightly battered prawns, deep-fried until golden and crispy, served with a tangy dipping sauce. If simple but impactful had a definition in the form of a food dish, it has to be Prawns Tempura at Belamrose. The prawns were perfectly fried, they were nice and crispy on the outside while being soft and meaty on the inside. It gave us the perfect start to this evening.

The word Salium in Latin means salty or savory, and that is exactly how this drink is! This sophisticated signature cocktail is carefully crafted around a bittersweet, savory-sweet flavor profile. With gin and silky stone-fruit nectar as its base, this drink also has a proper measurement of saline solution added to it. Elegantly served ice-cold in a chilled coupe, this drink sets the mood for the party.

Tender chicken cooked with numbing Sichuan peppercorns and dried chillies. It was aromatic, intensely savory, and provided a signature numbing-and-spicy flavor profile. The dish tasted even better with the drinks. With such amazing flavors, this dish surely calls for once more!

This cocktail is a balanced vodka-based drink with the magic of Konkan’s distinct fruit, Kokum. The unique fruit takes the center stage here as the bartender uses house-pressed kokum nectar, providing the drink a sharp and tangy profile. Served with salt on the rim, this drink was refreshing, fun, and tangy!

Mozzarella, Alfredo sauce, sun-dried tomato, baby spinach, black olives, grilled chicken, parmesan, fried garlic flakes, and black garlic cream. This was hands down one of the best dishes served here. The combination of all the mentioned ingredients with grilled chicken and mozzarella cheese is simply beyond delicious. It is the perfect pizza to share with your friends and then order again.

This is a crisp and savory cocktail that blends gin with homemade cucumber pickle brine, fresh dill, and green apple juice. It offers a balanced sweet-and-sour mix, creating a layered and distinctive flavor profile. Finished with a pickled cucumber slice, this cocktail offered us the perfect combination of freshness, umami, and acidity.

Tempura prawns, avocado, crispy tempura flakes, and house sauce. We are not huge fans of sushi, but this dish made us try more than one piece of the sushi roll. It gave little crunch on the outside with tempura flakes, but was nice and smooth on the inside. The house sauce added a lot of flavor to these rolls.

This is a signature cocktail from the Roman mythology-inspired beverage program. The drink elegantly pairs vodka with a rich, house-made fig reduction, beautifully capturing the earthy sweetness of the Mediterranean fruit. Served flawlessly chilled in an elegant stemmed glass, it stands out as a sophisticated, deeply flavorful choice for cocktail enthusiasts.

Smoked chicken croquettes served with Caesar foam and parmesan cheese. The Caesar foam was simply out of this world, with a very unique foam-like texture. The croquettes tasted good with amazing filling, but they felt a bit too smoky than required. This unique salad dish was an eye-candy but did not please us much with its taste. But if you like smoky dishes, you will surely fall for this one here.
Would We Order It Again? Probably, no.

Slippery noodles tossed in spicy chilli garlic sauce and vegetables, and Indo-Chinese chicken in spicy soy-chilli gravy with pepper. This is the perfect main course dish if you love noodles with gravy. The gravy is perfectly spiced and balanced in consistency, which complements the tossed noodles well. The chilli garlic sauce and soy-chilli flavored gravy seem like the best combination.
