Russia Opens ‘Wine Disneyland’ To Boost Enotourism

In a push to wine tourism or ‘enotourism’, Russia has inaugurated Bely Mys, an expansive wine complex on the Black Sea waterfront. Inaugurated after a statement released on June 13, Russia inaugurated this property on the seafront embankment of the Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik. Let’s take a look at this new property that is being dubbed as the ‘Wine Disneyland’ of Russia to boost enotourism.

Wine Disneyland Opens In Russia

Russia has inaugurated the Bely Mys – a 42,000 sq m wine complex. Located on the seafront embankment of the Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik, already being dubbed “Putin’s wine Disneyland”.

The complex is home to the Lev Golitsyn Wine Museum, an enoteca carrying the largest collection of Russian wines. Along with the largest collection of Russian wines, the complex is also home to more than a dozen restaurants, event venues, a five-screen cinema, a wine academy, a testing and laboratory center, tasting rooms, a registry office with stunning views, and a yacht dock.

Bank Rossiya Invests In Major Boost To Enotourism

One of the project’s principal investors is Bank Rossiya, owned by businessman Yuri Kovalchuk. With a stated mission to promote domestic winemaking and cultivate a new generation of wine-curious Russian consumers.

Dmitry Levitsky, restaurateur and co-director of the project, commented, “Our mission is to make people fall in love with wine – and through that, to motivate them to explore its nuances, flavors, and the technology of winemaking,”.

Key Features Of Belys Mys And Other Wine Complexes

Bely Mys is the largest but not the only wine destination currently under development in Russia. A second complex is under construction at the Krinitsa winery, also near Gelendzhik. With an estimated value of 27 billion rubles or INR 124.65 crore approximately, it is the most expensive winery project in Russia.

However, this will not be the only such wine complex. Two further centers are planned for Crimea. The first, at the iconic Novy Svet ‘champagne house’, will be the largest with an area of 87,000 sq m. It will include a museum of Soviet winemaking, tasting rooms, a floating bridge, a craft center, restaurants, an observation tower, and a yacht dock. The second is at the Inkerman Winery. Both the projects will be backed by Bank Rossiya and are scheduled to open later in 2026.
