Whiskey pate at Indigo deli is an indulgence that will pull you with its sultry dark chocolate exterior. The chocolate is darker than some episodes of Game Of Thrones. Once you take in a bite, the delicious journey begins. It actually begins when we take a whiff of its chocolaty aura, but let’s not get too carried away. After your bite, you will discover the enormous amount of mousse that sits atop an almond brittle. Your classic mousse falls weak in front of this dessert. The flavor of whisky blends perfectly with the bittersweet taste of chocolate. Indigo Deli is well known for its savory dishes but its desserts stand out bold, proud, and as heavy on the pocket as my weight.

Nutella is awesome and this dessert at Monkey Bar is the bomb. This might be the booziest chocolate cake one can ever get. You may or may not be a fan of Old Monk, but don’t worry, its taste adds to the chocolaty flavor, but doesn’t overpower it. The cake is well worth it, considering how dense and light it is. Rasgulla will always be one of the stars on the list of Indian sweets. The chefs at the Bombay Canteen looked at this dish and took upon the task of mixing this with rum. A crossover with a lot of high stakes. People love rasgulla and they love alcohol, so the expectations were as high as Snoop Dog at a party. But the chefs did it. This is not a rasgulla, it is much more than that. This is a blend of salty caramel ice cream and coffee-flavored ganache with the magical powers of rum. The ganache is simply a rich cheesy delight with the feel of a rasgulla. One look at the coffee rasgulla sundae and your hand will unconsciously move towards it. Did we mention it also has roasted peanut brittle!

FAQs

Can Alcoholic Desserts Get You Drunk?

No, unless you eat loads of them. This is because alcohol is used as a flavor enhancer and not with the intention to get you drunk. If they poured alcohol into your little cake, it won’t really be a tasty treat.

Is There Alcohol In Rum Cake?

Yes, on average, there’s half a cup of rum in a standard-sized rum cake. So eating 3 slices won’t make a difference, but eating more might give you a slight buzz.

What Liquor Is Used In Desserts?

Bourbon, champagne, wine, cream liqueur, gin, rum, and vodka. All of these can be used in a dessert.

Do Sweets Make Alcohol Stronger?

No. To put it in simple words. When sugar gets mixed with alcohol, the latter gets absorbed faster by your body. This is why you feel the buzz after drinking a cocktail faster and with more intensity if compared to a beer or whisky on the rocks. But the buzz doesn’t last for very long.

Why Do They Put Alcohol In Desserts?

Alcohol enhances the flavor and the overall texture of the desserts. Because it is alcohol, it also gives them a nice warm aftertaste.

Is It Good To Have Sweets With Alcohol?

Yes, but only in moderation. Combining alcohol and sugar is not a good idea if you are a heavy drinker. Because this means, you are consuming way more sugar than the dietary limits.

What Does Adding Liquor To Food Do?

It adds a great deal of flavor to your food and also enhances its aroma.

What Alcohol Goes Best With Dessert?

Red wine, champagne, sherry, cocktails, beer, rum, and gin. These are some great options to pair with your favorite dessert.
