If you thought that spirit producers just invested in distilling and selling the liquor, you should know they invest time and money into their bottle designs as well. To encourage aesthetic elements attached to liquor labels, The Spirits Business holds a Design & Packaging Masters award event every year. Here are 5 alcohol bottle designs that won at The Design & Packaging Masters in 2019

1. Pink Pepper Gin

Audemus Spirit’s Pink Pepper gin was awarded the Master medal for its neat packaging label that doubles as a cocktail menu. The judges were impressed with the label design as it elevates the user and customer experience.

2. Avallen Calvados

The bottle design of Avallen Calvados won a Master medal for contributing to environment sustainability in the spirit industry. The liquor’s label is printed on recycled pulp paper and uses eco-friendly dyes for the printing process.

3. Knut Hansen Dry Gin

Germany’s Knut Hansen dry gin was awarded a Master medal for its regional and old-fashioned design. The idea of using ceramic bottles to package the liquor dazzled the judges. According to them, ceramic added a touch of sustainable design to the bottle.

4. Compass Box

Stranger & Stranger’s Compass Box won a Master medal in the scotch whisky round. The heavily embossed label design appeared to give a 3D effect to the bottle which impressed the judges at the event. The design appeared to maximize customer satisfaction by offering an extremely appealing look to the fine-quality liquor.

5. Zealot’s Heart Gin

A product of BrewDog, this handmade gin won a Master medal for its strong brand story and original bottle design. Expressed as a gin ‘made by zealots, for zealots’, the producers of the liquor left the judges in awe with their unique concepts.

I was quite excited when I came across a bottle of the Compass Box at a relative’s house. The bottle design was indeed beautiful and made a few of us admire it for some time. I am glad the liquor’s bottle design received its due, along with the other winners.
