Raise Your Glasses, Indore! Atelier V Is The Hottest New Spot For Your Weekend Plans

Indore, celebrated as India's cleanest city, is a paradise for food lovers, offering delights like the famous Jalebi Poha at Chappan Dukan and the vibrant night food scene at Sarafa Bazaar. If you crave both street eats and a touch of elegance, Atelier V – Indore’s first cocktail bar and fine dining spot, is the fresh gem in town that you need to check out.

And as your drinking buddies, unsobered decided to try it first. In the corner of a warmly-lit restaurant, eyes glued to the glass kitchen, eager like kids on Christmas morning, a large mural resembling the Last Supper caught our attention. But this one was featuring the founder of Atelier V, Vedant Newatia with his pals instead of the iconic scene. With each arrival of delicious food and crafted cocktails, it was clear that Indore has finally scored a fine dining spot and cocktail bar that perfectly balances style with substance!

Atelier V: Vedant Newatia’s Indore Fine Dining Spot Born From Global Inspiration

Establishing a place on Indore’s culinary scene meant truly honoring the local flavor. Fortunately, Atelier V had an advantage with its Founder and Chef, Vedant Newatia, who grew up in the city. He started his culinary training at IHM Aurangabad before heading to Switzerland for a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts.

While this formal education broadened his understanding of culinary techniques, Chef Newatia also explored diverse culinary landscapes around the globe, visiting countries like Chile, France, and the United States. Moreover, his interest grew beyond cooking, as he completed a program at the European Bartender School in Amsterdam, enhancing his expertise in mixology. The menu at Atelier V is a true reflection of his dedication and passion for both food and drink.

Corners Of Atelier V: Minimal Sophistication At Its Finest

Step into a delightful twist on the Last Supper at this restaurant, where the inviting interior feels like a cozy den! Picture dim, warm lights, a sleek seating layout, and just the right number of tables – enough to entice without overwhelming.

Rich wood tones, refreshing greens, and soft beiges create a lovely change from the flashy colors often found in modern cocktail bars. And the bar? It doesn’t scream for attention; instead, it subtly invites you to enjoy the bartenders’ artistry in crafting classic cocktails with flair.

With space for 82, the decor tells the story of the founder's adventures, perfectly balancing comfort and conversation over flashy Instagram moments. This spot is all about the experience!

Food And Drinks: The Main Deal

Atelier V is not limited to a single cuisine; it is a restaurant that offers a variety of global dishes inspired by Chef Newatia's travels. The menu showcases a diverse range of options, featuring everything from Japanese to Italian cuisine, all under one roof. Here are some recommended food items you should try:

  • Chicken Katsu Sando: INR 615
  • Katsu Tofu Japanese Curry: INR 645
  • Caponata Empanadas: INR 545
  • Smoked Salmon Crustini: INR 650
  • Chocolate Cake: INR 375
  • Opera Cake: INR 460

What’s special about the restaurant is its equal focus on quality and quantity. You can find a diverse selection of global bites inspired by Chef Newatia’s journey, and despite the quantity, the food maintains high quality. Just an example of that would be how the restaurant uses Callebaut chocolate – one of the finest, richest kinds of Belgian chocolate, in all of its chocolate desserts!

We were certainly hyped up when we heard that this is Indore’s first cocktail bar and fine dining spot, and as a team who lives and writes booze, it felt like our heartfelt duty to try out the drinks here. Atelier V does its classic drinks just right – in fact, Chef Newatia’s aim is to first introduce the city to global classics rather than innovating them to something quirkier.

It does have a signature cocktail menu, and it is supremely good with its innovative offerings, but the original classics are just a notch higher. We also recommend giving the original classics a try here. If we’re being honest, we clearly haven’t seen a bar offering such an extensive selection of cocktails!

We tried the following drinks and let’s just say, they managed to hit it out of the park with most of them:

  • Espresso Martini: INR 745
  • Spanish Gin & Tonic: INR 725
  • Negroni: INR 745
  • Bee’s Knees - INR 675
  • Penicillin: INR 745

All of these drinks were made with the highest-quality ingredients – one sip and you could tell that! Plus, we also particularly enjoyed sipping on the Picante! A 10/10 unsobered recommended drink!

Cocktails and drinks at Atelier V are simple, uncomplicated, and to-the-point. It is common to see bars go out of their way to craft quirky cocktails and flashy drinks that are more style than substance, but Atelier V’s bar does not take that route.
