Koregaon Park in Pune is one of the most happening neighborhoods in Pune, best known for its numerous cafes, restaurants, bistros, rooftop bars, high-end bars, lounges, and pubs. And if there’s one place that we literally stumbled upon during our search for the best restaurants and pubs in Pune, it is Basho’s.
In this edition of Drink N Dish, our social media series, we’ve landed at Koregaon Park’s Basho’s. Keep reading to know if this place surprised us with its offerings or simply fell flat.
Basho’s in Koregaon Park is tucked away from the busy, bustling streets of Pune. It might be difficult for those new here to locate it in one go, with a small, narrow pathway leading to the restaurant. Once you find the narrow pathway leading to the restaurant, you’ll be delighted to see that the restaurant feels like you’ve stepped into a whimsical garden.
We’re talking about lush greenery, big and small potted plants, and a soothing canopy of greens welcoming you in. A narrow pebble-lined pathway takes you to the entrance of the restaurant, preparing you for the cozy and homely atmosphere inside the restaurant.

25-year-old Basho’s in Koregaon Park is known for its summer-y, breezy, and coastal-inspired rustic interiors. The peaceful atmosphere is perfect for unwinding after a long day of work. The lush greenery and the tucked away location does a good job of blocking away the city’s noise, making it a peaceful restaurant to unwind at during a weekend in Pune.
A fun fact about Basho’s is that the owners have actually turned their private residence into a restaurant to cater to guests. So when you step inside Basho’s, you’re not stepping into just any restaurant but stepping into a slice of the owners’ personal memories.
We quickly glanced through the menu and ordered two of their classic cocktails, the Margarita and Tequila Sunrise. The Margarita and Tequila Sunrise did not meet the mark and certainly disappointed us.
Would we recommend getting cocktails here? No, but maybe you can try the classic spirits instead.
The food, on the other hand, was definitely tasty! We ordered Chicken Malai Tikka and Egg Curry Rice were quite delicious and didn’t disappoint us as much as the cocktails.
In the end, we think that Basho’s cocktails are not the best – there is definitely room for improvement. But the food and the ambiance definitely compensate for the below average drinks. The food was delicious and comforting in each bite, and the ambiance truly feels like stepping inside a whimsical garden.
We paid a total of INR 3,592 for four items – including two cocktails and two food items.
Our verdict is that it is definitely an expensive place to visit but the ambiance and the food is definitely worth a visit!

Looking for the best bars and pubs to visit in Pune? Basho’s in Koregaon Park is a must-visit in Pune – however, do note that it can be comparatively pricier. The cocktails left us disappointed but the food and the ambiance definitely make for a worthy visit.
