Globus Spirits Debuts Sipahi, Dwaar Indian Craft Whisky; See Availability

One of the leading grain-to-glass distillery companies, Globus Spirits Ltd., has officially launched Sipahi, Dwaar Indian Craft Whisky. This is the inaugural expression under its newly established Dwaar Indian Craft Whisky portfolio. This will be another remarkable addition to India’s blended malt portfolio. From prices to where in India it is available, here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this new spirit that will soon adorn the shelves in bars and liquor stores.

Sipahi Dwaar Indian Craft Whisky By Globus Spirits

As of now, the bottles will be priced between INR 1,400 and INR 2,400, depending on the size and the local excise duty of the state. The spirit will initially be made available in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Goa, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Delhi.

Sipahi is a craft blend that brings together aged Indian Single Malts, which have been distilled from Rajasthan Six Row barley, and Scotch Whisky. The blend is then finished by chill-filtering and aging in authentic Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Casks that are sourced from Andalusia's Sherry Triangle in Spain.

On the nose, this craft blended malt has the aroma of polished oak, soft dried fruit, vanilla, subtle spice, and delicate floral notes. The palate, too, is just as deliciously complex with refined woody notes, gentle toffee sweetness, dried fruit, warm spice, a delicate smoky undertone, and silky and rounded mouthfeel. Finally, the finish is long, hauntingly sophisticated, with lingering oaky notes, soft toffee, gentle spice, and restrained smoky warmth.

What The Leadership Has To Say About This

Shekhar Swarup, the Joint Managing Director of Globus Spirits Ltd, said the following regarding the launch: “With Dwaar Indian Craft Whisky, we are creating a portfolio that draws inspiration from a distinctly Indian symbol, the doorway, while expressing it through a contemporary craft whisky lens. Sipahi reflects our approach to premiumisation through the considered coming together of aged Indian Single Malts and Scotch Whisky, elevated by a finish in authentic PX Sherry Casks. It is an expression shaped by Indian craftsmanship, international cask influence and a belief that heritage can be interpreted with a modern point of view.”
